We are currently seeking an Aerodynamics Engineer (m/f/x) to join our team for a permanent position at K-tronik, supporting one of our clients in the aerospace & defense sector. Interested? We’re looking forward to your application!

Tasks:

- Perform aerodynamic simulations of different fidelity levels and develop aerodynamic models to predict the behavior of a future arial platform
- Plan aerodynamic characterisation jointly with flight dynamics modelling group
- Build and mature in depth understanding of complex aerodynamic effects and leverage that in model reviews
- Report findings regularly to Chief Engineering and contribute to product improvements
- Validate computational methods with experimental data (eg, system tests, flight tests) and contribute to planning experimental characterization
- Build and continuously improve efficient workflows for computational aerodynamics
- Collaborate closely with interfacing disciplines such as Flight Dynamics Modelling, Flight Control, and Testing

Qualifications:

- M.Sc. in Aeronautical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent degree or equivalent training/education
- At least 5 years of professional experience in applied (computational) aerodynamics preferably on fixed-wing aircraft
- Solid background in flight mechanics and systems modelling
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to report and present findings clearly and efficiently both internally and externally
- Solid software engineering skills, writing well-structured code in Python, Matlab or Rust
- Experience with Star-CCM+ i (desirable)
